ABOUT YOUR DOCTOR
Dr. Burton S. Schuler
is a 1975 graduate of the New
York College of Podiatric
Medicine. After spending
eight years out west, he came
to Bay County, Florida in March,
1984 and opened his office of
Podiatric Medicine and Foot
Surgery at its present location
at the corner of 15th Street
and Arthur Ave. Since first
opening, his practice/office
has gone through 3 major
renovations and additions.
He is a Diplomate of the
American Academy
of Pain Management, a Diplomate
of the National Board of
Podiatric Examiners;
and a Fellow of the American
Academy of Ambulatory Foot
Surgery. His professional
memberships include the American
Diabetes Association, and both
the American and Florida Podiatric
Medical Associations.
Among Dr. Schuler's other
accomplishments include writing
the book
The Agony Of De-Feet,
A Podiatrist's Guide To Foot Care
and writing articles on
new ambulatory
surgical techniques for
the foot, that have
appeared in leading podiatric
journals and publications.
He has been interviewed by
such varied publications
as the New York Times,
Cosmopolitan Magazine,
The National Enquirer,
and First for Women.
Radio stations throughout
this country and abroad
have sought his opinion
when they wanted an
expert regarding foot
problems. In 1992 Dr.
Schuler had the distinct
honor of becoming a
contributor to Collier Encyclopedia
and Encarta Encyclopedia on CD-ROM.
He has also been chosen as
one of the OUTSTANDING YOUNG
MEN IN AMERICA, by THE UNITED
STATES JAYCEES.
His biography is included in

Who's Who in Science and Engineering,
Who's Who in the World,
Who's Who in Emerging Leaders in America
and Who's Who in America (index).
He is presently doing research
on Evening Primrose Oil, on how it
affects the foot and the whole body,
especially in diabetics.
In the late 1980's and early
1990's Dr. Schuler felt there
was a need for a more specific
level of pain treatment
than was found in the normal
podiatry office. For that
reason he founded
The Ambulatory Foot Clinic- Podiatric Pain Management Center.
In January 1994, Dr. Schuler
and his staff were recognized
for this accomplishment by being
the first podiatry facility in
the southern part of the United
States to be accredited by the
AMERICAN ACADEMY OF PAIN MANAGEMENT;
AS A PAIN PROGRAM, FOR THE TREATMENT
OF PAINFUL CONDITIONS OF THE
FEET. THIS MEANS THAT IN ALL
ASPECTS OF THIS OFFICE and CLINIC,
DR. SCHULER, AND HIS STAFF HAVE
MET A NATIONAL STANDARD OF
QUALITY DIRECTED TOWARD THE
PREVENTING AND ALLEVIATING
OF HUMAN SUFFERING.
He is active with the March
of Dimes, sits on the Bay County
Film Commission and volunteers
his time at numerous causes
and organizations. He was a
member of the Florida Delegation
to the 1996 Democratic Convention
in Chicago. He is a bird watcher,
member of Bay County
Audubon, and a ham radio operator,
KA5DJH.
